Meet Lorenzo Pérez Ramírez


Lorenzo Pérez was born in Toledo in 1995. He began his musical training in the speciality of trumpet at the music school in Cobisa (Toledo), and completed his education at the Jacinto Guerrero Conservatory in Toledo. There he obtained his professional degree under the tutelage of Rubén Rullo Romo, finishing in 2020 with top marks in the subjects of Analysis and Fundamentals of Composition. He has also extended his training with specialization courses given by soloists such as Germán Asensi, José Ibáñez, Borja Antón, Juanjo Serna, Carlos Benetó and Luis González.

At the same time, he became interested in composition and conducting, producing works from an early age. He has studied band conducting with Jan Cober, J. R. Pascual Vilaplana and Ferrer Ferrán, and composition with Andrés Valero, Saül Gómez, José Zárate and Pedro Antonio Moreno. He has also attended specialisation courses and/or masterclasses with Teo Aparicio, Juan Cruz Guevara and Javier Costa.

He recently graduated from the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Joaquín Rodrigo" in Valencia with a degree in composition. As an arranger, he has worked with the singer Víctor Trejo, orchestrating his songs for symphonic orchestra, symphonic band and rock combo. He has also collaborated with the Unión Musical Benquerencia (Toledo) in making arrangements for the show Una noche en Broadway, although these were not premiered due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Recently, he was a finalist in the XV Concurso Galego De Composición with his work Fervenza do Toxa. Since 2022, he is director of the lyric zarzuela company "Viva lo Nuestro", being the musical director and arranger of it.
