Meet Ana Linares

I am a composer from Spain with a deep love for storytelling that began with film scores.
Listening to the work of brilliant composers sparked my curiosity about music’s capacity to
convey meaning and emotion, which led me to pursue a career centred around music and stories.Over the last eight years, I have had the privilege of working alongside industry professionals on a wide range of projects, including films, television series, documentaries, music albums, and live performances.
After studying Composition, Electronic Production and Design, and Contemporary
Conducting at Berklee College of Music, I am currently completing my studies at the University
of Barcelona, specialising in immersive audio, sound design, and music for video games, while
continuing to work in the industry.
I love experimenting with different techniques and technologies that continuously develop my
compositional voice through the exploration of acoustic instruments and sound synthesis. One of
my favourite things about being a composer is sharing my experiences through music and seeing
how they resonate with people. I love that music has the ability to transport us somewhere else
and that everyone experiences that journey differently.
While composition and storytelling remain an important part of my career, my work is
increasingly focused on activism and ethnomusicology. In the near future, I hope to develop an
organisation dedicated to preserving musical traditions and celebrating cultural identities around
the world.
