Meet Enrico Fumo

I am 29 and come from Naples, Italy. My path in music started from live performance, and evolved towards proper composition in the last five years, approximately, when I started being more and more interested about conceptual and formal aspects of sound organization and, of course, its use in relation to images. I studied jazz music at Naples Conservatory from 2015 to 2021 and graduated in jazz saxophone (I level) and jazz composition (II level). My goal was, in that era, to find multiple applications for the knowledge I was receiving into the musical works I was engaging with, both as performer and arranger — principally, Reggae, Pop and Rock music beside, obviously, Jazz.
Later, my interest for film music oriented me towards more theoretical studies, so I moved in Spain where I attended the official master of the University of Barcelona “Music as interdisciplinary art” in 2021-22. I graduated with a final work on film music, consisting of an interdisciplinary analysis of excerpts from films of Italian Neorealist and Post-Neorealist scene, which constitutes a constant source of inspiration for me — specifically, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone and Armando Trovajoli.
In 2022 I enrolled at Valencia’s Conservatory “Joaquín Rodrigo” to study classical composition in order to get a more systematic vision of music materials, which I felt I was missing, and to finally direct my learning path in direction of proper musical creation.
