Meet Fernando Capella

Fernando Capella is a 20-year-old Chilean composer and music producer whose musical journey
began through electronic music production at the age of twelve. Initially inspired by artists such as
Skrillex, he developed a deep fascination with synthesis, sound design, and modern music
production techniques, building a strong technical foundation that continues to shape his compositional voice today.
While film had always been an important artistic influence in his life, around 2021 Fernando became increasingly drawn to cinematic music, especially horror film scores.
The works of composers such as Christopher Young, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Marco Beltrami, and Ludwig
Göransson inspired him to begin studying orchestration and composition independently.
By the age of sixteen, he was already writing his own original soundtracks and exploring contemporary
classical music as a self-taught composer, developing a particular interest in tension, texture, and emotional storytelling through sound.
Fernando is currently pursuing a degree in Music Composition at Pontificia Universidad Católica
de Chile, where his artistic interests expanded toward contemporary concert music and the works
of composers such as Igor Stravinsky, Dmitri Shostakovich, György Ligeti, and Alfred Schnittke.
His music is characterised by cinematic intensity, detailed orchestration, and a strong emphasis on atmosphere and emotional tension, combining contemporary classical techniques with the
sonic possibilities of electronic music and sound design.
