Jonathan Fernandez is a Cuban-American multi-instrumentalist with over two decades of experience in music. Raised in a family of musicians deeply rooted in Latin American gospel traditions, he developed a passion for music at an early age. Today, he regularly serves as a pianist and music director in a contemporary church setting and also teaches piano, helping students connect with music on both a technical and spiritual level.

Guided by the words of Johann Sebastian Bach—“All music should have no other end and aim than the glory of God and the soul’s refreshment”—Jonathan approaches every performance and composition with a desire to glorify God and bring peace, comfort, and emotional depth to listeners. Music, for him, is a sacred space for storytelling, reflection, and connection with the Creator.

Musically, Jonathan draws from an expansive and diverse range of influences, including gospel, classic rock, orchestral music, electronic music, jazz, salsa, flamenco, and Afro-Latin rhythms. This eclectic blend of styles allows him to craft rich, expressive soundscapes that support and elevate visual storytelling.

With formal training from the University of Central Florida and Berklee College of Music, along with a background in psychology, Jonathan brings a deep understanding of how music affects us on emotional, physical, and spiritual levels. His work emphasizes the powerful role music plays in memory, emotion, and narrative.

Passionate about collaborating with filmmakers and visual media creators, Jonathan is eager to contribute original scores to short films, documentaries, and multimedia projects. Whether composing, performing, or directing, he is committed to using his musical gifts to serve both the story and the soul.
