Meet Levent Altuntas



Levent Altuntas (b. 1994) is a German composer and orchestrator based in Hamburg, renowned for his contributions to film, television, and video game scores as well as for his concert music. A graduate of the Hoch Conservatory, the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, and the Royal College of Music in London, he completed his Master’s in Composition for Screen with Distinction, supported by the prestigious John Barry Scholarship for Film Composition.
Levent’s compositions and orchestrations have been performed and recorded by prominent ensembles around the globe, including the London Metropolitan Orchestra, the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, Staatskapelle Halle, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, The Twiolins, the Carducci Quartet, and Coro Volante. His work in orchestration spans high-profile media productions such as Disney+’s recent Star Wars series "The Acolyte," ITV's "Endeavour," and the latest expansion pack for "The Sims 4: Life and Death."
As a lead composer, his recent projects include award-winning short films, as well as the feature films "World Order" (dir. Roberto Puzzo) and "Hard Copy" (dir. Daniel Fooley), available on Amazon Prime UK.
Since 2024, he has also been a lecturer in music arranging at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and since 2025 a research assistant as part of the project “Soundtracks for Lost Films. Printed Music until 1918” at the University of Hamburg, where he is preparing a doctoral thesis on the music of 1916 Hollywood super-epics.
