Marcos Ripoll began his musical studies at the age of 12 at the SMI Santa Cecilia in Cullera. At the age of 17 he debuted as a soloist with RV Williams' tuba concerto, with a great reception from the public and critics. In his youth he met Mel Culbertson, a prestigious American tuba player, with whom he studied and became a great friend.

As a soloist, it is worth highlighting the concert held in the Zaragoza auditorium (Mozart room) performing the concerto for tuba and orchestra by John Williams with the “Orquestra Filharmònica de la Universitat de Valencia”, as well as the concerts and recitals held in the Príncipe Felipe auditoriums from Oviedo, CM Lluís Vives from Valencia, Fundación Marcelino Botín in Santander, Teatro Amaia in Irún, Caroli Kirka in Malmö (Sweden), Powell Recital Hall in Knoxville (USA), performing works by Penderecki, Broughton, Kraft, Vaughan Williams, Strauss , Dumitru, Granados, Albéniz, López-Chávarri among others.

Graduated in tuba from the Salvador Seguí Higher Conservatory of Music in Castellón.During the 1998-1999 academic year, he moved to the Perpignan Conservatory (France), studying with Mel Culbertson, where he was awarded the Silver Medal.

He has a degree in tuba from the Royal Schools of Music of England (The Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music).

He is in possession of the “Master Postgraduate Degree in Musical Analysis and Interpretation” at the University of Oviedo and the Postgraduate Degree taught at the Lund University Musikhögskolan in Malmö (Sweden) in Tuba and musical interpretation. Both postgraduate degrees have been distinguished with the highest qualifications.

The album commemorating the tenth anniversary of the “Philharmonic Orchestra of the University of Valencia” includes a live performance of the concerto for tuba and orchestra by John Williams.

With the pianist Stefanos Spanopoulos, in 2012 he presented his first album as a soloist “Mediterranean Tuba” performing pieces adapted and arranged by Marcos Ripoll for tuba and piano. Mediterranean Tuba brings together pieces by composers born around the Mediterranean Sea; Albéniz, López-Chávarri, Granados and Tárrega. Edited and available at Musicvall publishing house.

In 2016 he released his second album, “Contemporary classics for a lone tuba” made up of the most famous and well-known pieces for solo tuba in the repertoire (Penderecki, Kraft, Stevens, Gregson, Koch, Spillman, Arnold, Persichetti) and two compositions composed expressly for this project by D. Menent (Espills ausents) and R. Sancasto (Epítube).

In 2021 he presented his third album, “Endeavour” with the most famous concertos for tuba accompanied by orchestra (RV Williams, E. Gregson, B. Broughton, A. Plog) including the recovery and revision of the “Mediterranean Concerto” for tuba by R. Talens, and for the first time Marcos Ripoll presents his own concerto for tuba and orchestra.

He has composed various works, including the Concerto for tuba and orchestra, the Overture for brass quintet, various pasodobles and chamber music. Currently focusing on his compositional work for audiovisuals and video games.

As a technician, producer and sound engineer he has recorded more than 12 albums, in addition to different works for various record labels, he is in possession of the Protools 101 certificate and the “Spatial and 3D Sound” course from the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
