Hi everyone!

I'm a self taught singer-songwriter & tv composer from Istanbul, Turkey. In 1999 I started my music career with my debut album "Beni Ellere Verdin" with 6 of my own somgs and 4 Turkish traditional songs in Pop-Rock genre.

I kept releasing albums as a singer-songwriter but I can say I found the real joy of making music in composing for Turkish TV Series which later became popular in Europe and LatAm. I play acoustic and classical guitar and also try to learn violin these days. I'm very happy to attend GEMS.

Murat Evgin born in 1977, is an established and internationally recognised singer , songwriter and film composer who studied Cinema in Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey.

Since 1999 he has released 10 albums (5 as a singer & songwriter, 5 as a tv series composer) , 15 singles and has scored more than 2000 episodes of tv series that are popular in Türkiye, Middle East, Spain, Eastern Europe and LatAm.

After his popularity for composing love songs and instrumentals for the Turkish TV Series he also reached a wide audience in Latin America and made Spanish versions of his tv series songs. The Latin American Press named him “The Voice of the Turkish Series”

Some of the top Turkish TV Series he has composed for are Back Streets (the longest running TV Series of Türkiye for 20 seasons,749 Episodes so far) , Canım Annem (Amor de Madre) Acemi Cadı,  Elif,  Toprak ile Fidan (Broken Destiny), Yaralı Kuşlar ( Wounded Birds), Umut Yolcuları, Sahra etc.

In 2017 he became the 1st Turkish Composer on Netflix US & UK with Myths & Monsters. After the success of this production he composed music for the docs The Stuarts; A Bloody Reign (BBC Studios, Yesterday TV), İyi ki Yapmışım / I’m Glad I Did and Caniko / Sweetie for Netflix Türkiye.

He played shows and toured in countries like Türkiye, Spain, Germany, America, Norway, Bulgaria, Colombia.

In 2024 he celebrated his 25th anniversary in music and he produced his own music & talk show “Murat’la Çok Yakın” (Muy Cerca con Murat) on his youtube channel with his band and stars guest stars who are actors and singer of Türkiye.

In 2025 he produced a cross-cultural cover of John Lennon's Nobody Told Me (in

Turkish) for Vince Gilligan's PLUR1BUS. Rolling Stone Magazine mentioned Murat Evgin's cover in Best Tv Needle Drops of 2025 List with bands like Metallica, Stone Roses.
