Invitation to meet Starr Parodi
THURSDAY JULY 7th at 19:00-20:00 SPANISH TIME

I would like to extend an invitation to our GEMS Alumni women composers and ScoreLive Alumni women composers to meet and hear Starr give a conversational talk about her work and life as a creative artist composer.

At the start of the GEMS Film Scoring Summer Program, in 2017, I introduced the GEMS Contemporary Woman Composer Scholarship Award, to support and assist in bringing a gender balance of women composers on to the GEMS Film Scoring Summer Program. This is an annual award and has seen many brilliant woman composers join the program, meet influential and supportive tutors, and move forward with their careers including working as assistants to Hollywood Composers.

To support this I invite amazing woman composers from the global entertainment industry to meet and talk with our community. Last year film Composer Lolita Ritmanis is the former President at Alliance for Women Film Composers and Member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Lolita gave an Inspirational talk, exclusively for all our past and present GEMS Contemporary Woman Composers.
This year I have the great pleasure of announcing Starr Parodi will be our guest speaker. Starr Parodi is a multi award-winning accomplished Composer and the former President of the Alliance for Women Film Composers. An innovative solo artist, pianist and producer.

Starr has scored hundreds of episodes of TV & film and her scoring credits include Michael B. Jordan’s gen:LOCK, Transformers: Rescue Bots, G.I. Joe Renegades, The Starter Wife, Conversations With Other Women, The Division, and hundreds of Hollywood's most iconic and visible film trailers/promo (Rogue One, Last Samurai, James Bond, Mission: Impossible II, The Peanuts Movie, Harry Potter, Dreamgirls, Night at the Museum, X-Men 3, etc.). Her darkly innovative production/arrangement of the JAMES BOND Theme (RIAA Gold Record) was credited by Forbes magazine as "reinventing the modern action movie trailer.”

This is an EXCLUSIVE free invitation to GEMS Alumni women composers and ScoreLive Alumni women composers, who have attended a GEMS Summer Program or entered a ScoreLive Competition.

Your online ZOOM link will be sent to you on the day of the event. If you choose to attend in person, please visit our GEMS website for the CEV address. The event is ONLINE
